Home of one of the most popular gran fondo's in France La Marmotte, and the start of europe's most velknown climb Alpe d’Huez, featured in the TDF 30 times or so depending on how you count. Known for it's 21 named hairpins. This alone should be enough to visit Le Bourg-d'Oisans, but there are so much more. I have climbed Alpe d’Huez the traditionel way from Bourg-d'Oisans 3 times, 2 times was at the ending of the Marmotte Gran Fondo and I think that this is why I have felt that this is one of the hardest climbs you can du, but in reality it's not that hard, but having climbed 4000 Hm and then have to deal with Alpe d’Huez, your legs will hurt.
