Finally with some friends, I have to admit that no matter how amazing rides I had done, I would probably have returned home earlier if it wasn't for the fact that I had an appointment with some bike freaks who loved climbing mountains on a road bike like myself. Andermatt, located approximately 130 km south of Zurich, was the place we were to explore together. I had chosen Andermatt, because for many years I have had a good eye for the granfondo bike race Alpenbrevet. The platinum version of the race is with its approx. 270 km. and approx. 7000 hm. one of the hardest granfondo races in Europe, I had planned that we would do most of the route over 6 days plus a little extra. A little became a lot when the friends first got on their bikes in these surroundings, it was like watching the cows being let out onto new grass. Get me right, I was also carried away, just by the thought of names like Furkapass, Nufenen pass, Oberalp pass, Grimselpass, Sustenpass and not least Gotthardpass with its 7 km. with cobblestones. It was the hardest week on the trip, but also one of the best, but I can do without the cobblestones. It is very difficult to highlight one climb or one route, they were all extraordinary, but the silver route from Alpenbrevet, which we drove in its entirety, is almost a must and maybe it would be even better the opposite way.
My routes:
Climbs:
Furkapass
Göscheneralpsee
Grimselpass
Lago Ritom
Nufenenpass
Oberalppass
Gotthardpass
Sustenpass
